Designed to bring email management to the third-screen, fastmobile, Inc., the mobile industry’s leading provider of integrated communications platforms and applications, has secured an agreement with MetroPCS, an innovative regional wireless service provider, to provide the technology platform for a first-of-its-kind integrated email product.
fastmobile developed a customized push email product for MetroPCS, enabling MetroPCS subscribers to receive, reply to and send email — with real-time delivery — from the convenience of their handset.
fastmobile’s product enables MetroPCS customers to automatically check for emails and receive notifications when a new message arrives. Along with the ability to read and compose messages, users can delete, save and sort messages. Users of premium services, including AOL and AIM mail, will simplify their user experience through synchronization of email status.
“This innovative and integrated email product, developed by fastmobile, lets consumers access and manage email within one simple and familiar user interface — without browsing the web,” said John Hoffman, CEO, fastmobile.
The fastmobile product, which MetroPCS has branded mail@metro, is available in all MetroPCS markets on the MOTORAZR, MOTOKRZR and MOTOSLVR, as well as the Kyocera Strobe handsets.
“fastmobile was selected because of their willingness to partner and collaborate with MetroPCS to deliver an optimal and customized product for our customer,” said Roger Linquist, President and CEO of MetroPCS. “fastmobile’s technology, as well as their commitment to the customer, was a real differentiator in the selection process.”
